Rail
Torquay Railway Station is approximately 1.2 miles from the Assessment Centre.
Head out of the station and left along Rathmore Road. This leads into Falkland Road – carry on through the next junction onto Lucius Street, Tor Church Road, Tor Hill Road, and finally Union Street.
Alternatively, there is a smaller station (Torre Station) which is approximately 1.1 miles from the Assessment Centre.
Exit the station and walk south along Newton Road. The Travelodge Torquay hotel should be on your right. Continue along Newton Road, East Road, Morgan Avenue, Tor Hill Road, and finally Union Street.
Car
The Assessment Centre is on Union Street, in the heart of Torquay town centre. The main route past Torquay is the A380, from which you can take the A3022 towards the town. Follow signs for Union Shopping Centre car park and the Assessment Centre is on Union Street which runs alongside the shopping centre. The nearest car park is the ‘pay and display’ within Union Square shopping centre, which has over 400 spaces. The charge for parking is £2.00 for up to 4 hours.
Bus
Bus services numbers 12, 22, 31, 32 and 34 go to Torquay town centre.
Notes from this Centre
The Assessment Centre is located on the second floor, located within the pedestrianised area of Union Street, above Select clothes shop and opposite Holland & Barrett health food store. The centre can be accessed by lift but if an emergency evacuation of the building is required, such as a fire alarm, the lift cannot be used. If you think that you would have difficulty going down the stairs unaided in the event of an emergency, please ring the Appointments Help Desk number on the accompanying letter at least two days before your appointment date so that we can make alternative arrangements for you.
