Train
The Assessment Centre is 200 yards from Liverpool James Street Station: turn right out of the station and cross the main road at the lights, continue straight ahead and the Port of Liverpool Building is the last building on the right before the Mersey. The Assessment Centre is on the lower ground floor.
Car
From A565 Southbound: follow the A565 into Liverpool, and near the end of the road, turn right into Fazakerley Place. Turn left into Romford Place, continue onto Romford Road, and then turn right onto the A57 (Water St). Turn left onto the A5036 (The Strand) right onto the A5039 and continue onto Mann Island.
From M57: leave the motorway at Junction 5, and join the A580, and then join the A5058 (signposted Ring Road, Southport). Continue down this road across the junction with the A59, then bear left onto the A59 following signs for the city. From this road, turn left onto the A57 (Dale Street), and left again onto the A5036 (The Strand). Turn right onto the A5039, and the Assessment Centre will be on your right.
Parking: There is no parking outside the entrance to the Assessment Centre, however there is a drop off area outside the entrance to the Assessment Centre for people with limited mobility. There is limited meter parking in nearby Brunswick Street and Water Street.
Alternative parking is in the Liverpool One shopping centre, which is accessed via an underground entrance on Strand Street – it is approximately a 15 minute walk from the Assessment Centre: exit Liverpool One and walk along The Strand towards the Royal Liver Building. Port of Liverpool Building is on the left, before Cunard and Royal Liver buildings.
Bus
Bus stops in James Street about 300 yards away. Walk down the street towards the dockside, crossing the main road at the lights, continue straight ahead and the Port of Liverpool Building is the last building on the right before the Mersey.
Notes from this Centre
The Assessment Centre is facing the large black glass building. The new Liverpool museum is opposite the entrance to the Assessment Centre.
Please note that this assessment facility is located on the lower ground floor. The main entrance to the Assessment Centre is via a ramp or 6 steps on the Mann Island side of the building. Also have to press buzzer to gain access and come through 3 sets of double doors.
