The train station is less than half a mile from the Assessment Centre. Exit the station via Railway Street. Turn right onto Railway St, turn left to stay on Railway St, then turn right onto the main road (Castlegate). Take the next left onto Scott’s Place, continue through Ivy Place, Well Close Square and finally veer left into Infirmary Square, where the Minor Injuries Dept will be directly in front of you. You will be able to enter the Assessment Centre here.
From the North, via A1/A1167 (Castlegate) into Berwick: take the first left turn after the B&M store into Castlegate car park. The Assessment Centre is on the other side of the road, and can be entered via the Minor Injuries Dept entrance of Berwick Infirmary.
From the South, via A1/A698: continue on A698, pass Tesco on the left, continue onto A1167, cross River Tweed, turn left at the mini-roundabout, continue on before turning right at the B&M store, into Castlegate car park.
Parking: Castlegate is the nearest car park to the Assessment Centre – it has both pay-and-display and free parking (with disc).
There is no Bus Station in Berwick. Passengers can be dropped off at Berwick Railway Station and follow the train directions.
Notes from this Centre
Please note, the Assessment Centre is situated in the outpatient department of Berwick Infirmary. Please enter the Assessment Centre via the Minor Injuries Department’s entrance and wait in the Mather Ward waiting room. A Centre for Health and Disability Assessments staff member will take you to the assessment room.
