Train

 

Walk down Station Approach and take the footbridge on the left, which brings you down on to Leazes Road.

 

If continuing by bus:

 

Walk down towards the roundabout and turn left on to North Road. The bus station entrance will be approximately 50 metres on your right. Take the number 57b (stand G) or 6a (stand D) Arriva North East to New Elvet Three Tuns. Alight at Three Tuns and walk up hill (past Durham Police Station). After the traffic lights, keep left on to Hallgarth Street and continue walking for around one minute, Elvet House will be on your left. This walk should take, on average, less than five minutes.

 

If continuing on foot:

 

Continue along A690/Leazes Road towards The Gates, keeping on the right hand side of the road. Cross over the main road towards The Gates, and then cross over Milburngate Bridge. Pass Prince Bishops car park, and then turn right on to New Elvet. Cross over the bridge and walk for approximately five minutes until the road forks, keep left on to Hallgarth Street. Continue walking for about one minute and Elvet House will be on the left. This walk should take, on average, less than 20 minutes.

Car

 

A1 – north & southbound – take A690/Durham and follow signs to Durham/City Centre to park at Prince Bishops car park. Follow the directions above from Prince Bishops car park if continuing to the assessment centre on foot. This walk should take, on average, less than ten minutes.

 

If being dropped off at the Assessment Centre, at the second roundabout on A690/Leazes Road take the first left on to New Elvet. The road divides just after Lloyds TSB, stay in the left lane for Hallgarth Street.

 

A park and ride service is also in operation, with frequent buses running from the park and ride sites at Belmont, Sniperley roundabout and the Howlands into Durham City.

 

There are limited pay and display/meter parking spaces available on Hallgarth Street and the surrounding streets. There is no on-site parking.

Bus

 

From Durham Bus Station, take the number 57b (stand G) or 6a (stand D) Arriva North East to New Elvet Three Tuns and follow directions for Train continuing by bus.

 

If continuing on foot:

 

From the bus station, walk up North Road (towards Durham Train Station) and turn right on to A690/Leazes Road. Follow directions for Train continuing on foot.
